Funeral services for Benjamin George ‘Benji’ Brozovich will be held at 10:00 A.M. Mon., Oct. 15, 2018, at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds Auditorium, with Father Andrew Duncan, of St. Leo Catholic Church in Lusk, officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at the Lusk Cemetery. He died Thursday, Oct. 4, in a train crash west of Cheyenne, WY.
Ben was born in Lusk Jan. 11, 1979 to Art and Madeleine (Kalamaja) Brozovich, and grew up on the family ranch. His large and colorful and strong personality was already visible when he was born with his wild spiky black hair and red face. He was stubborn and opinionated but funny! He leaves behind a family who will forever miss the place he had in their lives, but live with hope that one day they will be re-united with him once again.
He attended Niobrara County Schools, and graduated from NCHS in 1997. While in school he dabbled a bit in sports, but found his true sport to be motorcycles. He remained a dyed-in-the-wool Bronco’s fan…no matter how bad they played.
Ben passionately enjoyed moto cross racing, even if it came with broken bones! And he embraced a new love, golf, which he found calming and fun.
At the time of his death, Ben had been employed by Union Pacific Railroad for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Martin and Katherine ‘Katy’ Brozovich; his maternal grandfather Karl Kalamaja; and his brothers Jordan and Jason.
Ben is survived by his parents, Art Brozovich of Lusk and his mother Madeleine (Jack) Jacobs of Torrington; brother Tyler Brozovich of Lusk; the daughter he adored, Sierra Brozovich of Lusk; maternal grandmother Wilma Kalamaja, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
